When I was introduced to The Veterans Garage and their cause i was not aware of them and had no preconceived ideas about what they were all about. I went down to the site at Barton Airport to learn more and see how we could help promoting the cause through local magazines On Our Doorstep & Live It Local www.onourdoorstep.co.uk who are our clients.
Meeting the team and learning about the tough times Jay had been through along with the other veteran volunteers down there i was truly moved and inspired. I actually felt guilty that i didn’t realise how little support Veteran’s get when leaving the Army and the affect PTSD has on their lives is immeasurable. They had already been working hard, both physically and also at building relationships and had the support of Peel and Six Two Architects was a great achievement.
That day i offered our PR & Marketing services to promote the charity and to put together a structured marketing plan. I am so glad that i did as they are a pleasure to work with and we have between us all grown the awareness considerably by attending events such as The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Property & Construction lunch, where people were seen to be visibly moved by their story and offered their services. They also have had coverage from the Manchester Evening News, Key 103 and through their Patron Antony Cotton (Coronation Street).
As our chosen charity we are excited about their long term plans and working with them to achieve them in 2017.
