The Veterans Military and Emergency Service Organization was established to combat mental illness within the local veteran community, the main aim would be to use the revamp of the terminal building as a way to empower veterans to gain employability skills and seek to combat poor mental health but unfortunately before we could get the terminal started we sadly lost two beneficiaries to suicide this prompted us to take immediate action in the form of adopting the business centre which quickly developed into a one stop shop for all.

With help Combat stress the charity over the course of a few months would become a home and a meeting place for The Royal British Legion, Help For Heroes, Combat Stress, Walking With The Wounded and the NHS’s Military Veterans Service.

The hub overtime developed and grown to a functioning café area and social area with a pool table and arcade machine along with several events running throughout the week to help people transition out of the military and help tackle social isolation in veterans.

This growth seen our charity develop into a all service Social Enterprise which now sees us host Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force events along with Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Merseyside Fire Service and North West Ambulance all having weekly and bi-weekly events at the VG.
